Course Description
  1. Introduction: Solar and Terrestrial Radiation, Structure of Atmosphere, Radiometric quantities, Laws of propagation of radiation in atmosphere.
  2. Scattering and Absorption in atmosphere: Absorption and scattering from molecules, Particulate matter and clouds, Effect of albedo of the ground, Multiple scattering effect
  3. Models of radiation propagation in atmosphere: Methods of solving of equations of radiation propagation, Applications to the ultraviolent, visible, near and far infrared. Climate models, analytic one-dimensional and three-dimensional models.
  4. Solar radiation measurements: Terrestrial measurements:  Spectrophotometers and wide spectrum instruments, measurement techniques, calibration and quality control. Satellite estimations: Instruments, calibration techniques and quality control.
