The Postgraduate Degree Program of the Department of Physics was founded in 1993 and included the specialization “Electronics and Computers”. In 2006 the specialization program was renamed to “Electronics and Communications (Radioelectrology)”.

Since the academic year of 2018-2019, the postgraduate specialization in “Electronics-Circuits & Systems” has been operating within the Postgraduate Degree Program of the Department of Physics entitled as ” Applied Physics Studies in Atmospheric Sciences and Electronics “.

Purpose

The aim of this specialization is to offer high-level knowledge to the postgraduate students, which will allow them to be competitive both nationally and internationally, and will enable them to be recruited in companies related to Electronics.

The subjects taught involve:

  • The design of analog, digital, and mixed-signal integrated circuits and systems.
  • The design of systems using microcontrollers.
  • The design of digital systems using FPGAs.
  • Signal and image processing.

Another purpose of this specialization is to offer to their students the possibility of continuing their studies in the scientific fields related to Electronics at the level of a PhD Degree.

Perspectives

In its 30 years of continuous operation, the specialization has offered high level knowledge to its graduates, most of whom are employed in Electronics companies both in Greece and abroad. The specialization provides students with high-level expertise in state-of-the-art subjects related to electronic circuits and systems, which are of interest to the industry. There is therefore a demand in the labor market for high-level executives who are proficient in Electronics. The professional career of the graduates of the present Postgraduate Degree Program, many of whom hold high positions in domestic and international companies, confirms the above.
